Course Overview
A Voter Assistance Clerk is responsible for offering assistance to voters with disabilities, seniors, pregnant women, and other voters who may need assistance. VAC’s ensure the Vote Center is accessible to all voters, helps manage lines inside and outside of the Vote Center. They are also responsible for assisting voters who may have questions and providing the proper forms and information to them, which includes voters that are using curbside voting. The VAC manages the DS200 machine inside the Vote Center. The DS200 is an electronic voting system that uses an optical scanner to read marked paper ballots and tally the results. This Ds200 has the capability to immediately tabulate all results from all paper ballots at each Vote Center. After all voters have cast their ballots the VAC hands all voters an “I Voted” sticker.
